Hi, I’m Rebecca — founder and creative director of BALI AND ME. I started this brand with a simple vision: to create beautiful, ethical keepsakes that honour life’s special moments. Whether it’s a tiny ornament that becomes a family treasure or a meaningful gift for someone you love, every piece I make is designed to capture a story — and to last.

Where It All Started

Creativity has always been my way of making sense of the world. Years ago, I realised I’d covered every wall of my apartment with paintings. So I took a leap and listed them online — and they sold. That moment lit a spark I couldn’t ignore. It showed me that what I created mattered, and that there were people out there who connected with it. But the turning point came during maternity leave in the middle of the pandemic. I wanted to make something meaningful for my baby’s first Christmas, so I crafted a set of personalised ornaments. I shared them online — and to my surprise, they took off. That small act of creation was the beginning of something much bigger.

From Creative Outlet to Ethical Brand

What started as a side project has grown into a small, purpose-driven business. I now create a growing collection of:

  • Personalised keepsakes
  • Thoughtful, nature-inspired jewellery
  • Hand-stamped brass and clay ornaments
  • And occasional original artworks

I draw inspiration from Balinese craftsmanship, Slovenian heritage, and European holiday traditions — blending them with clean, timeless design and sustainable practices. Each piece is handmade slowly and thoughtfully, using natural, chemical-free materials and packaged in compostable or recycled wrapping. This isn’t just about making pretty things — it’s about making them well, with care and intention.

A Business That Cares

At BALI AND ME, sustainability is a part of every decision I make. I create in small batches, using low-energy methods and minimising waste. My clay ornaments are biodegradable, and I avoid harsh chemicals in all materials. But sustainability, for me, also means community. I:

  • Donate handmade ornaments to local hospitals each Christmas
  • Provide at-cost memorial keepsakes to families through hospital networks
  • Support infrastructure and education access in Balinese communities
  • Donate art supplies to local preschools and creative programs
  • Mentor fellow women in business, especially mothers pursuing creative paths

I believe that business should lift others up — not just profit, but contribute.

What Guides Me

My philosophy is simple: Create with purpose. Honour tradition. Make things that matter. My values are:

  • Creativity – designing pieces that tell a story
  • Sustainability – thoughtful materials and methods
  • Community – giving back and connecting locally and globally
  • Respect – for people, culture, and the planet

I’m building something that goes deeper than trends. I want every piece from BALI AND ME to feel personal, soulful, and lasting — something you’ll treasure for years, or even generations.
